My go-to summer look is definitely a midi or maxi skirt.  So for this article, I am highlighting 6 of my favorite summer skirts….where I bought them and where I wore them!

My everyday go-to summer skirt is a black striped midi I purchased on sale at Dillard’s in their junior department.  It pairs well with a white short-sleeved shirt, woven belt, slides, and my bucket bag….perfect for delivering Meals on Wheels.  A little shopping tip: Dillard’s Outlet at Ridgmar Mall is a great place to shop for skirts.

A maxi Dolce Gabana look-alike I purchased at Runway 7 in University Shopping Center has been my favorite spring/summer party skirt.  Last summer, I wore it to a penthouse terrace party in Manhattan. This year, I gave it a new look and had the skirt hemmed to a tea length…perfect for this year’s Hats Off to Moms Luncheon!  BTW…small boutiques are typically the best place to find unique styles.

And though I love a party skirt, a maxi or midi worn with flat sandals or slides is my go-to casual look.  A summer fav has been a paisley midi from Zara’s in Vegas. One way I style it is with a striped off-the-shoulder top, complemented with a woven belt and strappy sandals…perfect for a Sunday brunch look.    My blue drop-waist midi skirt from H&M has been so versatile.  I wore it to a Sip & See with a white blouse tied at the waist, block heels, and my white macramé’ bucket bag.  For a casual look, I complemented it with a gauzy black blouse and a pair of St. Agni rattan slides. And here’s a little tip:  I always check out H&M’s sales rack for cute skirts!

Target unquestionably gives high-end department stores a run for their money.  In fact, the summer skirt I’ve received the most compliments on is a Target find….a khaki skirt with black polk-a-dots.  To give it a party vibe, I wore it with block heel sandals to an Amphibian Stage Production opening night party and play….Gutenberg the Musical!   Besides staying on-trend with the latest looks, you can’t beat Target prices!

“Who Wore It Better?”  Be sure to take a look at the striped yellow skirt on our board from ASOS.  I styled mine with a peasant top, woven belt and rattan slides. We both added a wooden bag…ideal for a casual summer luncheon.   ASOS is a great online shopping source. You can always count on their clothes and accessories to be current.

When it comes to finding the perfect skirt, there are so many shopping options available at small boutiques, online, outlets, and large retail stores.   But let’s not “skirt the issue”….it’s time to go skirt shopping!
