Summer is here, and it’s time to start wearing summer shoes, bags, embroidery, and hats….four easy summer trends!

Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up.  We are loving all the summer sandals and slides. Sam Edelman’s Carter slide is adorable and a great price point ($80).  There are so many great color choices between Tory Burch’s iconic Miller sandal and the classic Jack Roger’s sandal. For a preppy look, you can’t miss with a Jack Rogers sandals worn with anything Lily Puiltzer.  A cute look on our Pinterest board shows a bright blue and pink Lily dress complemented by a pair of white Jack Roger’s sandals. So easy and so preppy!

Espadrilles will bring flirtatious fun to your summer style!  From sandals to wedges, there is an array of summertime options.  We are major crushing on two looks from the blog, Gal Meets Glam. One of her looks is a blue eyelet dress paired with yellow Castaner espadrilles and a basket bag. Another charming look is a floral dress complemented with coral-pink Castaner espadrilles shown with a macramé basket tote. Plus we are featuring some really cute espadrilles from Dillard’s on our Pinterest board!  So easy and so adorable!

If you are carrying a wicker or wooden bag this summer, then you are obviously in the fashion-know!  We are loving all of the round wicker bags….from J McLaughlin, Zara, and Cult Gaia….just to name a few.  Besides being the ideal summer bag, these adorable round bags are also resort-ready. Point proven with the white sundress matched with Cult Gaia’s round Stella bag.  And a pair of white culottes paired with a round wicker bag is the perfect look for any five-star resort! So easy and so resort ready!

This season’s “it bag” is definitely Cult Gia’s wooden ark bag www.cultgaia.org.  Two places to find a copy of this iconic bag is at Hemline in Clearfork and, for a great price, look online at Amazon Fashion.  For a little flair, I like to tie a scarf on my wooden ark bag and wear it with everything from pants to midi and maxi skirts. When I wear it with a pair of wide-leg denim pants, I like to tie a red check scarf on my bag.   For a night on the town, I dress it up with a black maxi skirt topped with a white sash blouse, and for a pop, I add a color block scarf. So easy and so trendy!

Don’t you just love summer embroidery?  A blue embroidered maxi skirt paired with a white peasant top and a round blue wicker bag is perfect for any summer soiré.  One of my favorite places to find beautiful embroidered clothes is Anthropology. Want to add some flair to your summer style?  Then think about a pair of slip-on embroidered shoes from Anthro matched with checked culottes with tassel trim. So easy and so festive!

So what shouts summertime more than a cute straw hat?  Nothing…right? We are crushing on Draper James’ iconic “Freddie fedora” straw hat with its two-toned blue band.  Blogger, Kelly in the City, wears a cute straw hat with a black bow from Vineyard & Vine….perfect for a weekend at the lake.  We are also loving Madewell’s packable straw hat….because you know you will be taking it on a vacation! So easy and so vacay ready!
