Here’s one of my favorite lines from a Saturday Night Live skit:  “I’ve got the hair for Fox News…the brains for NBC…so here I am at CNN!”.  If you relate to this…I totally get you.

Something I’ve figured out over the years…women want a style that’s their own…a look that identifies who they are.  But many times, our style just ends up all over the place. Thankfully, I finally figured out my style….“classic with a twist”!   In other words, show me a white blouse paired with jeans, and I’m all in. The twist I like to add to a white blouse is with statement sleeves or cuffs….just enough to keep the look current.

I was thrilled when Cynthia Sadler, owner and CCC (Chief Cuff Creator) of Beyond Cuffs gifted me a set of zebra print cuffs.  In case you don’t know, Beyond Cuffs is a Fort Worth-based company that makes custom removable French cuffs! From TCU cuffs to holiday cuffs and everything in-between….these fun accessories will definitely have you “strutting your cuffs!”  Be sure to check them out at www.BeyondCuffs.com.   BTW…they make awesome gifts!

My favorite classic color is camel.  From sweaters to coats, this sophisticated hue always gives a classy vibe.  J McLaughlin is definitely my go-to for this classic look. When I recently saw their window display with a camel coat paired with checked pants…it was the perfect classic tease.  To give it a twist, I suggest pairing it with a pair of their animal print or red crocodile embossed loafers.

The classic trench coat has made a trendy comeback in recent years.  Of course, it still makes for a great overcoat and always looks professional.  To give it a cool vibe, think about pushing the sleeves up and pairing it with crops and mules.  Another twist for a classic trench is a variety of ways to tie the belt. So what’s more classic than pearls?  Nothing…right? If you own a Chanel pearl necklace, then by all means…wear it as often as possible!  But if you are like me, you may need to be creative with your pearl styling. Layering necklaces is so on-trend.  So for a twist, think about adding a strand of pearls or a pearl initial necklace with a few of your chain necklaces.

Isn’t it refreshing to know classics will always be in style?  And isn’t it fun to add a little stylish twist?
