After you read this post, you will want to make these brownies.  Then, you will want to eat them.  The entire pan.  Then you will have to admit to your trainer that you ate an entire pan of brownies (one brownie is 190 calories).  So, I am sorry for having to make you do extra time on the treadmill.  But, dang.  These are worth it.

Start with a box of Trader Joe’s brownie truffle mix which I love because it’s quick and inexpensive.  And two containers of peanut butter cups — one dark, and one milk chocolate.  I used Trader Joe’s brand, but you can use any kind you like.

Make the brownies according to package directions (try using your left over coffee from the morning as your substitute liquid — it gives it a slight mocha taste).  While they were baking I removed papers off of 24 peanut butter cups — half of each.

Take brownies out of the oven and place the peanut butter cups bottom side down into the brownie.  I did every other flavor.

Put the brownies back in the oven for about 2-3 minutes.  Remove from the oven.  Then, with a small offset spatula, gently spread the melted candy all over the top like you are icing a cake.

Let them cool.  Then give your husband a long list of errands to run, and send the kids to playgroup.  Take a fork out of the drawer, and eat the entire pan of brownies before they return home.  They will think you have been burning a chocolate scented candle.
